Yuma features extraordinary outdoor activities from tubing on the Colorado River to off-roading at the Buttercup Sand Dunes. Our location produces hard boiled eggs for a vast number of both retail and food service customers. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for overseeing 3rd shift production and sanitation activities. Lead will be required to train employees on all aspects of operation and sanitation and ensure production and sanitation policies and procedures are being followed. Lead will be required to work with Supervisor on planning daily production shutdown, sanitation, and start up. Lead will assist QA in pre-op inspections. The lead will be required to follow all company policies and procedures and work with QA and Maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is operating properly and quality guidelines are met. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes personal responsibility to insure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job’s duties/tasks. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately Maintain and operate all equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others and demonstrate safety as a top priority. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Report all Food Safety & Quality issues to a Supervisor, QA Manager, or Senior Manager. Ability to understand and operate all equipment effectively to meet customer demands and troubleshoot basic problems to minimize downtime and product loss. Clean all parts and equipment and put them back together Obtain general information on every area of the production floor. Follow all company procedures and policies including but not limited to HACCP SOPs, Sanitation SOPs, Company GMPs, and Safety Requirements. Follow instructions from the supervisors and direct employees on the floor to meet production and sanitation needs. Ability to understand and complete all required paperwork. Ability to understand and train employees on the chemicals used to complete the job, their purpose and hazards. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Assist co-workers with production, end of day shutdown, sanitation, Pre-op inspection, and line start up. Fosters open communications and a good attitude toward work and fellow employees. Maintain regular and consistent attendance. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Less than high school education. Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Yearly LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) Training Yearly Chemical Training License to drive a forklift and mule PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Bilingual preferred (eng/spa) Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand and train staff on all required paperwork. Ability to learn and follow the correct cleaning procedures. Ability to clean all parts and equipment and put them back together.
