Develops and implements recruiting events on and off-campus; collaborates with campus departments to increase student recruitment, retention and student development initiatives; implements and executes special programs; cultivates connections with external constituents to aid recruitment and student support. Contributes to the annual report, assessment activities and handbooks. Position Information Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manages the planning and implementation of retention initiatives for special programs as assigned. Conducts retention outreach as assigned to review honors credit benchmarks for continuance, honors credit status, community engagement hours, and student involvement with sophomore students Represents the Honors College at on and off-campus recruitment and engagement events. Identifies and organizes off-campus community engagement efforts. Communicates with prospective and newly admitted students and their parents regarding admission requirements, academic programs, financial aid, resident life, student organizations, and mentoring programs. Develops and oversees the honors living/learning residential communities including programming. Supervises graduate assistants who provide support with student retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives Conducts event planning with supervisor, graduate assistants, teaching assistants, student staff, and student groups (honors retreats, involvements, etc.) Establishes and leads residential honors leadership team for social, academic, and community engagement experiences specifically designed for residential students. Designs leadership training program, as well as a succession plan to cultivate a community of residential honors leaders. Collaborates with others to ensure robust experience for all residential students in university housing and in partner apartments surrounding campus. Develops programming for special populations to address student development, global citizenship, persistence, and graduation. Provides input into policies and procedures related to honors and retention initiatives. Performs statistical analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of outreach strategies related to enrollment goals. Prepares applicant weekly and comprehensive comparison reports. Prepares reports to assist the supervisor in strategic planning relating to honors student persistence. Utilizes systems to support student recruiting and retention including honors dashboard, CRM Recruit, Banner, and YSU PenguinPulse. Provides regular reports from YSU Penguin Pulse to supervisor for retention outreach for all classes. Monitors YSU Penguin Pulse to assess student engagement and conducts outreach to students who fall behind the honors requirement. Attends honors-only orientation and provides leadership during sessions as assigned. Assists with Honors College assessment initiatives. Serves as advisor to the Honors College Trustees. Supports "Dr. Abdu's Pen Pal Program" advisor in integrating the program into the Cafaro House community. Liaises with campus advisors for student schedule review as assigned throughout the academic year. Works on activities related to the five pillars of the Honors College as assigned.
