Robert Half Paralegal in Yorkville, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Paralegal in YORKVILLE, Illinois. This role is within a law firm specializing in class actions and will involve a variety of responsibilities including preparing legal documents, assisting in the preparation of exhibits, gathering facts, documents, and evidence for legal action or motion practice, and performing administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare state, federal, and appellate pleadings, ensuring they are properly cited, formatted, and proofread.

• Assist in the preparation of exhibits for legal proceedings.

• Gather facts, documents, and evidence to assist in initiating legal action or motion practice.

• Handle discovery requests and responses; conduct document searches; organize documents and coordinate document productions, which may involve bates-stamping, redaction, production logs, and e-discovery.

• Work collaboratively with clients and class members to gather and convey information.

• Perform administrative functions such as maintaining a paperless office by scanning and filing documents in the document management system.

• Perform word processing functions, filing, e-filing, service, and mailing of pleadings, documents, correspondence and courtesy copies.

• Manage calendar deadlines effectively.

• Utilize skills such as Briefing, Calendar Management, Complaint Handling, e-Filing, Civil Litigation, Civil Litigation Experience, Medical Records, Medical Records Analysis, and Medical records review to perform tasks and responsibilities. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Law or related field

• Previous experience in a Paralegal role is preferred

• In-depth understanding of legal procedures and terminology

• Proficiency in briefing, calendar management, and complaint handling

• Knowledge of e-Filing procedures is required

• Experience in civil litigation is essential

• Familiarity with medical records analysis and review

• Must possess strong research and report-writing skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.)

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Must respect confidentiality and act with discretion at all times.
