The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Quality Engineer.

Job Summary

Facilitates activities in support of Harley-Davidson's QMS (Quality Management System). Support Continual Improvement activities that directly impact business performance. Transfers knowledge/skills that can empower key stakeholders to take action(s) that contribute to the organization's success, support, and drive the use of quality/business tools, techniques, and methodologies. Supports the use of these tools in area of responsibility to increase quality skill/competency levels and impact business performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor Design, Manufacturing, Production and Supplier Resources to achieve, sustain and improve results and performance of quality objectives
  • Drive and support product development and process by providing expertise in the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools and drive/ support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Problem solving and issue resolution as it relates to quality metrics in manufacturing to achieve Plant Quality metrics (RPH, CPH, PPM, FPY)
  • Champions of built-in-quality and supplier quality playbook
  • Impact PFMEA/Control plan by reducing RPN for external and internal quality issues
  • Effectively communicates complex information regarding quality performance to manufacturing and executive stakeholders.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred

Experience Requirements

Required * Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Preferred * Experience in Project Management, which may include planning, supervising, monitoring, and accomplishing the goals of specific project requirements. *  Experience in Problem Solving/Decision Making methods. * Knowledge of QMS assessment, measurement techniques, and the product development process. * Understands PC operations including systems and software. * Experience in a team-based environment is a plus. * Professional society/organization certification preferred (ASQ, APICS, etc.).

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
