DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance Technician

Intertek is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our Building & Constructionteam in our York, PA office.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance of fleet vehicles and test equipment, including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, etc.].

What you'll do:  * Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies  * Provide exceptional customer service  * Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment  * Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment  * Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment  * Prepare and maintain records and reports  * Execute work orders and work independently  * Perform other work as required

What it takes to be successful in this role:  * High School Diploma or GED required  * 5+ years directly related experience working with electrical systems (including computerized induction/ignition systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems), HVAC and building systems, welding, and power and hand tools  * Training in vehicle/construction equipment repair preferred  * Craft apprenticeship or equivalent production maintenance experience  * Must possess (or be capable of obtaining) and maintain a DOT medical examiner's certificate to drive a company commercial vehicle, if applicable  * Mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair  * Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle, equipment and building repair and maintenance  * Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders in the English language  * General understanding of building construction techniques  * Knowledge of the tools and equipment required to perform job duties, and experience using power and hand tools  * Physical ability to routinely lift at least 75 pounds  * Physical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc. as required to perform job duties  * Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)  * Ability to travel as business needs dictate
