NVIDIA is now looking for a Silicon Photonic RF Component Modeling Engineer to join our Electro-Optics group.

Silicon photonic (Siph) has been the talk of the town for the last 20 years as the next stage now that Moore’s law is reaching its end. In recent years silicon photonic has become an important part of Data-Centers Interconnect and has the potential to expand its reach to other exciting fields.

We are looking for a Senior analog designer to join our electro-optics group, where we develop, design, characterize, and model silicon photonic devices and lasers for high-speed communication systems. This position offers the opportunity to have a real impact on the future technology of a multifaceted, technology-focused company impacting product lines ranging from consumer graphics to self-driving cars and the growing field of artificial intelligence.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Model Silicon photonic (Siph) components and lasers using analytical methods and numeric simulations.

  • Create circuit models for electro-optics and Siph devices using Verilog A.

  • Design of new experiments to characterize and validate the models and designs, in both the electrical and optical domains.

  • Incorporate your models in the design flow of the next-generation high-speed communication chips.

  • During your work, you will participate in the process of bringing up a new technology from the R&D stage to the Engineering and production, this is an opportunity for close collaborations with both NVIDIA researchers and Engineering teams taking our products and implementing them into the final products.
