Job Details Job Location Yakima - Housing - Yakima, WA Remote Type Optional Work from Home Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree   Salary Range $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage None Description Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Wage Range: $78,000 to $85,000 Salary/Annually Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Property Finance and Compliance Accountant will perform financial management and accounting work supporting all aspects of property portfolio management and ownership functions including program management, compliance, asset management and multi-family development. General duties will include, but are not limited to professional accounting work, development and implementation of financial procedures and internal controls, financial reporting and compliance with applicable federal, state and other regulatory guidance, and coordination of use of the Property Management software system. Coordinate and facilitate interdepartmental and interdisciplinary communications and teamwork as it relates to the financial compliance, management and reporting for the property portfolio at Catholic Charities Housing Services. Assist Property management team with financial matters as requested. Assist Regional Managers to provide training and oversight of Affordable Monthly Procedures and other areas impacting financial data and reporting as performed by Community Managers. Prepare and implement procedures related to finance for Property Management team, providing training and assistance as necessary. Provide guidance with compliance issues related to finance ensuring the correct recording of data on tenant accounts to reconcile with control accounts in the general ledger Respond to inquiries including tenant account research and resolution. Perform property accounting, financial compliance and reporting duties related to the property portfolio and its audits. Review detailed tenant ledgers for accuracy, reasonableness and compliance with financial protocols Reconcile tenant ledger activity with general ledger accounts, coordinating with Community Manager and Property Management Accountant to adjust records as appropriate. Develop and maintain reports for Regional Managers and Asset Managers, providing training and support. In coordination with Property Management Accountant, prepare and submit accurate and timely filings and reports to interested third parties and funders such as the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, the Department of Commerce, investor partners, lenders, etc. Develop and maintain financial reporting packages for each property. Work in coordination with Property Management Accountant to ensure that new reports are developed as needed and that available reports meet the needs of various team members and external partners and funders. Assist with the annual financial and compliance audits; collect and organize records, prepare various audit schedules; perform other related audit functions, as requested. Implement continued quality and internal control improvement to relevant processes and procedures as it relates to the property portfolio. Evaluate and maintain computer software system controls by user group. Evaluate user assignments to various groups with regard to internal and system controls. Provide input to managers and Finance regarding access levels as related to internal control. May adjust user and group access as directed. Represent Catholic Charities Housing Services in the most positive manner with other staff, administrators, vendors, customers and the community we serve.
