This position is for PCA's Columbia Region, Richland and Wallula box plants. Our Richland facility, which was built in 2019, is state of the art, leads the company in numerous efficiencies and operates in the Golden Rule mentality. Our Wallula facility also operates in Golden Rule mentality; however, it was built in 1958. It is a well-established facility; provides for long-term stability and growth and has been PCA's plant of the year. Annual gainshare up to 10 percent of earnings The Mechanical Packaging Technician is responsible for building, maintaining and repairing our packaging machines, such as a tray pack HSCs and DRCs. This position will service PCA's customers in the Tri Cities and Yakima Valley and/or other areas as needed along with four other mechanics. A company vehicle for making service calls and cellphone will be provided to the incumbent along with the competitive compensation and benefits package. The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $34. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of tasks to design, manufacture, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical and electrical components on packaging equipment both at our facility and customer locations nationwide. Work as part of a team in a manufacturing/production operations with a goal of increasing productivity, reducing downtime and waste. Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures. Work with a sense of urgency to reduce client downtime. Develop a close relationship with customers to aid in process of becoming preferred supplier. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment. Ability to work on call, weekends and overtime as required.
