Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry.

Build Connections By: Working alongside professionals in a wide variety of departments with internships available in the following areas: Communications & Legal Risk IT Legal, Risk, Communications Finance Human Resources Marketing & Merchandising Supply Chain Attending unique networking opportunities in and outside of the office. Working alongside a mentor who is a proven leader in the organization Shadowing jobs across the organization to explore your career path potential Participating in Gordon Food Services' community and stewardship efforts. Developing personal and professional skills through workshops about communication, LinkedIn, corporate presence, and more.

Build a Career: Find your place in ourStore IT department working on project work and support work for our stores as we roll out remodel and new stores, upgrade phone systems and deploy self checkout. Support daily activities associated with supporting a retail Point of Sale system Assist with the integration of new hardware or software features, including new products or services Partner with the field support team and other GFS teams on unique store issues that arise (ex. slow lanes, hardware, network or power issues, etc.) Investigate, troubleshoot and solve problems across various retail environments and systems including IBM 4690 ,TCx SKY OS, Cisco Network Hardware, Mobile Management and Workflow Automation Software. Create manuals, knowledgebase articles, flowcharts, diagrams, and other technical documentation. Engage and collaborate in vendor relationships, including solution development and support partners. Support the introduction of new technologies and products within the store sales channel Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives. May involve some evenings supporting deployments and upgrades. Projects may include: Store construction projects to support new stores and remodels.

In addition to the impactful work you will complete within your department, you will: Assist with projects tied to Gordon Food Service's strategic initiatives. Gain knowledge of the business, workplace etiquette, and business communication. Work 1 on 1 with a Talent Acquisition Specialist to revamp your resume. Work on cross functional teams to present impactful business solutions to senior leadership.

Meeting the following qualificationsto be considered for our 2024 internship program: Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor degree in Information Systems or Computer Science Incoming Junior or Senior status as of May 2024 (Minimum of 56 credit hours) Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Must be authorized to work in the US.
