This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
A combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration, written test, specified academic courses or related curriculum.

Examples of specialized experience include Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering (electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines) concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to support project development, execution, and advisory services. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering (electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines) concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to support project development, execution, and advisory services.
Knowledge of the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon system's life-cycle, operational planning, and execution, and policy. In-depth knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and interrelationships of the national Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and USAF.
Ability to apply engineering principles, concepts, methodologies, intelligence analysis, and modeling and simulation techniques to accurately assess foreign weapon systems', identify engineering and intelligence requirements or shortfalls to determine potential courses of action, provide technical advice and direction, and/or recommend solutions to satisfy open requirements and intelligence gaps.
Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
Ability to assess the impact of new technology on current and future systems, need for evolving analysis tools and techniques, develop innovative modeling and simulation methodologies, gather, assemble, and analyze facts, form conclusions, devise recommend solutions to problems, publish assessments into finished intelligence documents, advise acquisition, operational and policy making communities.
Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data; render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and competing resources based on mature judgment and experience, and present and/or defend a position effectively.
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material.
