Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector NAS410 Certified MT/PT -3rd Shift Hytek Finishes offers an exciting work statement of aerospace parts! As an inspector, you will ensure that critical parts on the aircraft are flight worthy. We have an onsite NDT Level III inspector who will be training you to achieve your Level II Inspection certifications in-house, and ultimately, can partner with you to create a training plan to eventually become a Level III NDT Inspector if desired! We are offering up to a $15,000 hiring bonus for pre-certified NAS-410 Level II Inspectors with Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (Methods A & B), Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Testing (Stationary Horizontal Wet Bench) in the Aerospace Industry. **Applicants must provide a copy of their NAS-410 Level II Certificate(s) in Magnetic Particle and/or Liquid Penetrant. This would also include all employer provided On-the-Job (OJT) hours upon submission of our qualification process. Job Overview Title: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector Reports to: Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule: 3rd Shift; Sun thru Fri, 10P to 6:30 A.M. Must be able to train on 1st shift for 90 days until fully independent. Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Job Summary This is an Inspector trainee position in our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) department. Employees in this position will become a certified for Hytek Finishes as an NDT Inspector. The individual in this role will be considered an Inspector Trainee until certified by the Level III NDT Responsible in each of the three areas of NDT Inspection performed at Hytek (Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Florescent Penetrant and are able to perform the work independently. On the job training, as well as study time is granted to all Inspector Trainees. Responsibilities Work closely with experienced Inspectors and NDT Level III Responsible to complete work and prioritize tasks. Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced NDT Inspectors; and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred. General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors. Prepare parts prior to operations; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable. Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures. Familiar with engineering drawing notations. Develop new product processing and identify areas for improvement. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Work and coordinate with other departments in order to meet customer demand. Other duties as assigned, including cross-training in other Production areas as work flow demands. Qualifications Ability to pass Written and Practical examinations prior to Hytek certifications. All Trainees are required to become NDT Certified Inspectors through Hytek's training program. Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others. Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently, as a team, and with customers (both internally and externally). Excellent accuracy with a strong attention to detail. Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position. Ability to use/learn Lean Tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
