Northrop Grumman is seeking an Principal/Sr Principal Engineer Construction to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position is located and will sit in Woodland Hills, CA. Must be willing to travel to local sites including San Jose and Sacramento to support projects.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities.

  • Prepares architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules.

  • Obtains and supervises outside contractors.

  • Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.

  • Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects.

  • Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

  • Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.

Basic qualifications for a level 3:

  • BS in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field plus 5 years of related experience, or a Master of Science with 3 years of related experience or; a PhD with 0 years of experience.

  • Willing to accept experience in lieu of BS degree with 9 years or more construction management experience.

  • Prior facilities related experience.

  • Experience with CAD/Revit

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).

Basic qualifications for a level 4:

  • BS in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field plus 9 years of related experience, or a Master of Science with 7 years of related experience or; a PhD with 4 years of experience.

  • Willing to accept experience in lieu of BS degree with 13 years or more construction management experience.

  • Prior facilities related experience.

  • Experience with CAD/Revit

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE Certification or Architecture Licensure

  • Secret level or Top Secret Level Clearance with SCI security clearance.

  • Experience with SAP

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Facilities experience in the Defense sector along with understanding of security standard ICD 705

  • Cleanroom or Lab experience

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300

Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
