M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant XRay Operator to join our team at the Tamarack Clinic. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Tamarack Clinic is a growing and collaborative clinic. Our clinic hours are 7AM to 6PM Monday - Thursday and 7AM - 5PM on Fridays, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance!

This position is eligible for a $2000 Sign On Bonus!

This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits eligible opening.

Job Overview

As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant/X-Ray Operator Clinic supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. This role is responsible for maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. This position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The Medical Assistant/ X-Ray Operator is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.

Job Expectations:

As a Medical Assistant, delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient.

· Follows the patient’s plan of care.

· Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, patient/family preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner and other health care team members.

· Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws.

· Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.

· Implements assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan.

· Documents care in the medical record.

· Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating physician/authorized practitioner/RN.

· Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.

· Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.

· Responds appropriately to emergent situations

· Functions as care team assistant as needed

As an X-Ray Operator, maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

· Performs examinations and identifies relevant data from images accurately

· Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.

· Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

· Participates in creating a culture of patient safety

· Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness

· Verify patient identification and documentation

· Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

· Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

· Ensures patient data integrity

· Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures

· Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements., completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes

· Follows infection control guidelines

· Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members

· Responds appropriately to emergent situations

· Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

· Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances

· Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution

· Complete all required continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

· Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.

· Maintains a high level of competency

· Accepts new technology as its introduced into the facility

· Participates in quality assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

· Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

As a member of the care team, continuously improve work processes, environment, and the overall experience to serve customers and meet business goals:

· Identify opportunities for improvement in workflow.

· Participate in meetings to support initiatives

· Communicate appropriately with team members

· Engage in change to improve the work environment and patient experience

Qualifications

Required

Education

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

License/Certification/Registration

· AHA BLS

· Current State of Minnesota Operators License

o Individuals who passed the X-ray Operator exam prior to January 1, 2008, are grandfathered x-ray operators and do not need to take this exam if the individual has the original certificate or the original letter of passing the exam to operate x-ray systems.

o If an individual does not have proof of certification or letter and MDH does not have a copy, the individual must take and pass the LSXO core module and procedure module(s) to operate a radiographic x-ray system.

Preferred

Experience

· Ambulatory Care Experience

· 1 year of experience of Imaging Positioning Guidelines and Experience

· 1 year of Radiation Safety Protocol Experience

License/Certification/Registration

· AAMA Certification

Qualifications

$24.77-$34.97 / Hourly
