Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeking to grow our Water Compliance and Permitting Team. We are looking for an Industrial Wastewater/Stormwater Program Manager to join our team in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area. A successful candidate will manage an industrial wastewater and stormwater permitting, compliance, and reporting, and water modeling program for one of Stantec’s Fortune 500 manufacturing client accounts. This position will manage client relationships, identify and respond to project opportunities, and lead execution of industrial wastewater and stormwater permitting and compliance projects in accordance with the Clean Water Act (CWA) and other federal, state, and local regulations. Compliance and permitting will be focused on manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, mining operations, and chemical manufacturing facilities. This position may be filled in any of Stantec’s offices, but ideally in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Direct projects and teams to meet deliverables including managing project scope, schedule, and budget for a wide variety of facilities with water permitting and environmental compliance needs.

  • Assist client team and facilities in identifying appropriate monitoring, planning, training, testing, record-keeping, and reporting protocols.

  • Review water permit applications and associated documentation.

  • Coordinate team assignments of projects and track execution of deliverables to ensure client’s needs are met.

  • Foster client relationships while responding to project opportunities with the correct Stantec resources.

  • Assist in account strategy, planning and growth, including industrial wastewater and stormwater team growth.

  • Track regulatory developments and programs which impact client operations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial wastewater and stormwater environmental regulations and requirements, which may include water quality modeling and federal pretreatment standard review.

  • Ability to manage a team and work with clients

  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software platform, specifically Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to occasionally travel and, as needed, have overnight trips

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred

Minimum 10 years of project management and/or program management experience for industrial wastewater and stormwater and compliance projects
