SUMMARY

Responsible and accountable for all accounting, reporting, and control activities affecting the program. Partners with program leadership in matters relating to decision-making, financial reporting, compensation, and business management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with accounting team to ensure accuracy of financial statements and adherence with internal controls

  • Support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting efforts including free cash flow

  • Assist with external audit requests

  • Maintain frequent communication with and providing guidance and support to senior leadership helping to ensure they are implementing actions to exceed annual financial budget

  • Work with finance leadership and AAR Corporate finance (e.g., CFO, CAO, tax, treasury) routinely on accounting and finance needs and requests

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial and operational performance

  • Build partnerships and strong rapport with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple factors and departments

  • Design and generate periodic reports for senior management to measure operating and financial performance on the contract.

  • Assist the estimating team and program management in pricing task orders.

  • Manage the implementation of annual budgets throughout the program.

  • Supervise, prepare and review billing and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures and contractual requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Experience leading functional teams and processes.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • Hyperion and/or Lawson experience preferred.
