The Electrical Engineer, MOL works with the Sustaining engineering team in Wood Dale, IL, to improve Videojet products. Through strong problem solving, planning, and execution, the Electrical Engineer will implement solutions to address various customer needs, including quality and reliability improvements, feature adds, production fixture support, and component obsolescence.

This position is part of the Research and Development Engineering department, located in Wood Dale, IL and will be a hybrid role with generally strong on-site presence.

Typical travel required less than 5% of the time.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement technical solutions for product improvements related to quality/reliability and feature enhancements, ensuring customer needs are exceeded.

  • Determine specifications and requirements of legacy components

  • Develop solutions to that meet quality, delivery, and cost targets

  • Create Test Plans to validate design solutions through the use of lab testing, analysis, and simulation tools

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, tech support, and suppliers to implement design changes.

Are you qualified?

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required. Master’s is a plus.

  • 10-15 years engineering experience in product development or product maintenance of line.

  • Experience with several of the following: Switching power supplies, digital circuits, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout, microprocessors, FPGA, and electromechanical interfaces.

  • Experience with hands-on electromechanical equipment in lab and factory setting.

  • Demonstrated skills in determining root cause and implementing effective corrective actions. Experience with any of the following formal problem-solving solutions is highly desired: RCCM, 5 Why’s, CAPA, DMAIC

  • Demonstrated skills with CAD software: AutoCad, Orcad, Altium, Solidworks.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a team-based environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
