AAR Defense Contracts Specialist in WOOD DALE, Illinois

Title: Defense Contracts Specialist

Location: United States-Illinois-Wood Dale

The Defense Contract Specialist is responsible for overseeing all contracts functions and agreements; pre-award, quoting, negotiations and post-award transactions relating to the processing of U.S. Government solicitations and awards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for terms and conditions prior to the processing of the vendor quote.

  • Receive quote from Product Line Administrator.

  • Electronically file bids to GOV buying commands.

  • Coordinate with GOV buying commands for amendments to solicitations, when required.

  • Coordinate with GOV buying commands regarding the issuance of contract modifications.

  • Maintain all open GOV quote folders.

  • Work cooperatively with other members of the Defense group to ensure the highest service level possible.

  • This includes actively participating in group meetings/project teams and consistently striving to improve the organization.

  • Ensure that department procedures are understood and followed.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiarity with Government regulations FAR & DFARS is preferred, but not required.

  • Foundational knowledge/awareness of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) supplementary rules and regs is preferred.
