Eurofins Sample Registration Technician in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom

37.5 Hours per week. Tuesday - Saturday. 4.00am - 12.00pm.

Purpose of the Post:

To register all water microbiology samples for analysis in a timely and accurate manner, and transfer to the laboratory as appropriate using out computer systems. This can be using an electronic format or paper based.

This is not a scientific role and is admin based with some manual handling involved. 

Main Duties: 

  • To accept deliveries of samples onto site.

  • To accurately and rapidly register samples for analysis and dispatch samples to the relevant business location. Attention to detail is a required skill for this role.  

  • Understand the importance of sample stability and ensure where possible samples are registered and ready for testing within their required stability times.  

  • To liaise with couriers, customers and Eurofins drivers to enable timely collection and dispatch of work to external and internal facilities.

  • To follow standard operating procedures and safe working practice to ensure the safety of self and colleagues.

  • To ensure that all equipment is kept within recommended limits for calibration and maintenance in order to adhere to quality targets.

  • Have a clean as you work mentality.

  • Keep sample logs up to date.

  • Store samples at correct temperature on receipt and prior to processing. Act accordingly when they are not.

  • Responsible for coding and logging of samples onto the in house IT System (FGS). Therefore need to be confident with use of computers systems.

  • A flexible approach to work will be required to help assist other departments as and when. required

  • Responsible for dispatching Adhoc samples and consumables to clients.

  • Will be required to answer incoming calls and make out-going calls to follow up on customers and must maintain a high level of customer service at all times.

  • Maths, English

  • IT Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Able to work in a fast paced working environment

  • Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook

  • Good communication and organisational skills
