We are currently seeking a Senior TechOps Engineer who will be responsible for troubleshooting customer issues and resolving application, network, and data problems within the IDBS SaaS and on-premises deployments.

This is a hybrid position, minimum 2 days a week in the office in Woking (Wednesday and either Tuesday or Thursday preferred for office attendance to promote collaboration). Occasional travel and out of hours working may be required.

What we’ll get you doing:

  • Work alongside customers and multiple IDBS product and technical teams to resolve complex technical issues, including issues relating to connectivity, application functionality and data.

  • Balance supporting the day-to-day technical needs of the Technical Operations Team (hands-on role), troubleshooting customer system upgrades, installations, and migrations of IDBS’ Enterprise Software.

  • Diagnose a wide range of technologies, including Oracle and Mongo Databases, Java (JEE Server), SSO (SAML), AWS components, VPNs, related Web, and network technology.

  • Take on new technology and stretch goals as they arise. Proactively tackle unfamiliar areas, reproduce problems, and develop solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership to other parts of the organization to develop best practice solutions.

Here is what success in this role looks like:

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a modern computing environment (Windows/Linux/Networks).

  • Responsible for troubleshooting complex database issues including writing advanced SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Work well under pressure with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously with a self-starting, proactive approach.

  • Confident and effective in communicating across teams, management tiers and with customers both in writing and verbally.

  • Able to relay complex information in simple terms to people at varying levels of competence.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Programming in at least one of the following (or like) Java, Python, Perl, PHP.

  • Understanding of Cloud Technologies (AWS or similar)

  • Exposure to Jira/Confluence and knowledge of GIT
