Indian Health Service Clinical Applications Coordinator in Winterhaven, California

Responsibilities This position is the Clinical Applications Coordinator for the Fort Yuma Health Center located in Winterhaven, California. Incumbents primary responsibilities will be to accomplish the broad range of activities surrounding the implementation for a comprehensive, standardized integrate health care information systems. The Incumbent will report to the Chief of Operations. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation integration and support of the automated systems and ancillary software packages that directly impact the accurate input of clinical encounter information and the subsequent output and display of health information data. Responsibilities include monitoring for new EHR and clinical application updates and planning for the smooth implementation of new features. Provides training to all services on current software applications, new features and ensures training is scheduled for new users. Responsible to coordinate with IRM staff and other package application coordinators when required to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts, provide secondary support on related software modules and ensure smooth operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated with other services' functions. Serves on medical center teams wherever and whenever management determines the skills and talents of the incumbent would be best utilized. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Individual Occupational Requirements: Education Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: implementation integration and support of the RPMS (Resource Patient Management System) and ancillary software packages; efficient performance of the EHR (Electronic Health Record) by ensuring accurate health data capture, display and output; monitoring for new EHR (Electronic Health Record) and clinical application updates and planning for the smooth implementation of new features. OR (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector the following type of work and/or tasks: Conduct and coordinate routine orientation an in-service training to all staff on compliance standards for safety standards; developing and maintaining a current resources in information center pertinent to industrial hygiene, occupational health, loss control, safety and environmental health; monitoring and reporting on facility employee occupational health problems and recommending necessary personal protective equipment as needed; directing, coordinating and evaluating hazard communication program; conducting surveys to identify problems for employees resulting from ergonomic conditions. OR Must have at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
