ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate brand leader who possesses strong commercial savvy to join our marketing team. The Director of Brand Marketing (DBM) for FMC Global Drive Brands is a strategic role for Reynolds American (RAI) that works to ensure that volume, value share and profit objectives are met. This role will be responsible for advising and completing a defined portion of the global drive brands’ marketing strategy to build the profile, image, awareness, and credibility of our global drive brands, resulting in increased trial and loyalty with Adult Tobacco Consumers (ATCs). In addition, this role will support in shaping the Below Weighted Average Pricing (BWAP) portfolio strategy and delivery. The DBM must garner and demonstrate US ATC insights to build the consumer base, improve market positioning, and drive share for overall sustainable brand growth. This role also requires a high level of engagement and collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners on go-to-market strategies, to ensure net sales and margin targets are achieved.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Triangulate Consumer, Commercial, and Macro market understanding to build highly effective plans, programs, and initiatives across key channels and TouchPoints

  • Understand consumer behaviors and brand positioning to build relevant, exciting brand expression platforms

  • Influence cross-functionally to effectively deliver the Below Weighted Average Price (BWAP) agenda and algorithm through Trade, Digital, and Activation teams

  • Craft out a long-term product pathway for the brand and work closely with Product Development, Operations, and Procurement to ensure the delivery of a fit for future portfolio

  • Leverage data and insights to build effective brand narratives that create strong understanding and trust in the global drive brands’ commercial and consumer strategy

  • Strong leader that inspires a hard-working team environment to achieve the brand objectives and critical metrics

  • Gain support for new insights, strategy shifts and lead change throughout the organization where/when appropriate

  • Establish clear brand standards and ensure execution against these standards

  • Lead, drive, execute, and measure performance of new product launches

  • Ensure that corporate strategy and regulatory guidelines are handled and met across all marketing initiatives

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience working within marketing function

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education experience

  • Proven expertise in marketing management fundamentals

  • Organizational skills to plan and prioritize team workload, and to supervise application of workflow, and procedures

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated track record of success in innovative problem solving and leadership that resulted in market share gains and/or business improvement

  • Track record of innovation within marketing & communications: a strategic leader who takes initiative and ownership

  • Strong planning, budgetary skills

  • Proven ability to successfully drive P&L objectives across a very large scope of business

  • Ability to effectively manage and work with third party agencies

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving & influencing skills, including personal presentation, emails and building presentation

BENEFICIAL

  • Graduate Degree (MBA) preferred

  • Experience in sales/trade/distribution preferred

  • Strong analytic capability and planning skills preferred

  • Strong brand affinity a plus

  • 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
