Job Description Supplier Quality Engineer 1801 Theurer Blvd, Winona, MN 55987 MANUF Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI All Hours Available OVERVIEW: Working as Full-Time Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be involved with the quality onboarding and continuous improvement of our supplier base. This includes, but is not limited to, investigating, evaluating and auditing suppliers, tracking and resolving issues and working with our suppliers on quality improvements. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Reviewing and providing a disposition for the supplier onboarding process o Performing on site quality and process audits of our supplier base o Working with our suppliers to resolve product quality issues and taking subsequent corrective measures o Assisting in responding to both internal and customer initiated corrective action requests o Providing guidance and suggestions to the purchasing department o Evaluating suppliers qualifications and performance via testing or coordinating applicable test methods with internal labs o Supporting Fastenal branches and other internal departments for quality related activities o Communicating project status and results REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess or working towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Operations or a related field of study OR possess at least 2 years of Fastenal work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Willingness to travel domestically and internationally o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Possess an engineering or technical related degree o Possess quality management related work experience o Possess experience working in a manufacturing environment ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
