The City of Winona, Minnesota is seeking an engineering technician to perform construction plan development, field data collection, construction staking, and public education work. Specific job duties include: Designs and draws plans for public works projects such as sewer, water, and street improvements Conducts preliminary topography, layout, and staking of construction work and as-built construction topography and plan updates Assists public in reading and interpreting maps and improvement plans, and explains assessment plats and schedules Updates and files all improvement plans and maps for permanent record keeping Maintains flood records and reports flood stages at various points in the city which are necessary for flood fighting operations Performs office work connected with keeping survey field notes up to date Performs construction observation including material testing Prepares pay estimates for contracts Supervises and trains seasonal survey crew as needed Performs other duties as assigned
