Ahlstrom is seeking anElectrical and Instrumentation Technicianto join its maintenance team inWindsor Locks, CT. TheEandI Technicianprovides full maintenance services for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for three production buildings at the Windsor Locks site. The position will troubleshoot and analyze systems and component malfunctions by investigating process conditions that are leading to failure in order to determine the corrective actions. Further, the position will make recommendations for system changes to meet operational, safety and environmental requirements and assist in engineering capital projects.

Schedule:Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. The position is also required to rotate through a week of 2nd shift, weekends, and on-call approximately every 7-9 weeks.

``` - Double-time pay on 11 paid holidays - TheEssential Functions and Primary Responsibilitiesof this role include: - Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical components such as wiring, conduit, cable tray, switches, analog circuits, motors, variable frequency drives, PLC's, power distribution lighting, etc. - Be fluent in PLC programming and drive parameterization. - Work with voltages ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC. - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, maintain calibrations/ISO records of process control instrumentation. - Assist Engineering with system improvement projects and retrofits of old equipment. - Participate in continuous improvement teams and root cause analysis for machine breakdowns. - This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the essential functions for purposes of the ADA

Minimum Occupational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Journeyman License preferred, consideration will be given to candidates with equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Minimum of five years troubleshooting experience with PLC hardware and software
  • Strong electrical, drive, and PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Must have experience in PLC/VFD and HMI programming languages, including function block/ladder
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • SAP experience preferred but not required
  • Must be flexible to work off shift when required. (Minimum 3 hours of OT for call-ins)
  • Must be able to participate in the week-end rotational shift, approximately once every other month

Physical Occupational Requirements:

  • Must possessthe ability to see, hear, talk, sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle controls
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Required to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk and stand for an 8+ hour shift, on a variation of hard surfaces and elevations.
  • Must have the ability to work in a hot or cold environment, indoor and outdoors, in a anufacturing production setting, with exposure to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Must possessthe ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis, assessments and repair work.
