Job Overview:

A drafter with 3-6 years of experience is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The primary objective is to support engineers, by producing accurate and precise drawings to help them visualize, design, and develop a wide range of products, structures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and modifying complex technical drawings using CAD software NX.• Collaborating with engineers, to understand their design requirements and specifications.• Reviewing and updating existing drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer standards.• Communicating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and design-related issues.• Maintaining and organizing digital files, including drawings and technical documentation.• Staying up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging CAD software.• Providing guidance and mentorship to entry-level and intermediate-level drafters and technicians.• Applying knowledge of drafting standards and best practices.• Contribute to the development of new drafting techniques and tools to improve the drafting process.

Qualifications:

  • Drafting certificate or Associate's degree engineering, or a related field. Or 3-6 years of equivalent experience

• 3-6 years of experience in drafting and using CAD software such as NX, CREO, AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

  • Experience with GD&T to apply to 2D drawings.• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve complex design-related issues.• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.• Advanced knowledge of industry standards, product lifecycle management tools and design practices.• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor entry-level and intermediate-level drafters and technicians.• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
