We are looking for:

This position is a multi-craft position with emphasis on pipefitting/welding and millwrighting. Primarily responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing pipe, vessels, tubing, structural steel and other metal work and for safely fabricating, installing, maintaining, repairing and demolishing (as needed) foundations, pumps, blowers, agitators, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment and components. The successful candidate will be required to work, independently or in partnership with other staff members, on general mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and utility operation tasks. An on the job and off site training program will be available to support these required activities.

We count on you for:

  • Performs varied maintenance and repair work of high grade in any location to keep piping and equipment in good condition.

  • Work requires familiarity with the purpose, construction and assembly of equipment/piping and generally includes such duties as installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and overhauling the plants mechanical equipment. Work on piping assemblies (ie piping, valves, etc) as assigned and as back-up to the pipefitters.

  • Interprets work orders, drawings, sketches, specifications and other instructions regarding scheduled and emergency repairs, changes, installations and inspection work to be done.

  • Plans details and sequence of working procedures and material procurement to affect the best approach to the job.

  • Knows and supports the corporate quality policy, Welland Plant practices, procedures and regulations as they affect this trade such as layout, materials, equipment, operations, safety, housekeeping and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Rigging, removal, disassembly, rebuild and installation of various rotating equipment including but not limited to pumps, blowers, heat exchangers and compressors.

  • Preventative inspection and maintenance of rotating equipment including condition assessments and routine lubrication.

  • Troubleshooting and providing corrective recommendations for various rotating equipment.

You will bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • A certified Journeyman Millwright a plus.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use all tools and equipment pertinent to the trade.

  • Extensive knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and repair all elements of millwrighting work.

  • Ability to troubleshoot rotating equipment with complex arrangements.

  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple pump designs such as vacuum, magnetic drive, and mechanical seals.

  • Moderate rigging for removal and placement of equipment.

  • Installation and proper alignment of shafts.

  • Major overhaul of mechanical equipment.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $31-$33 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
