Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. Our company has been dedicated to developing materials that make environments stronger, more durable, energy-efficient, and comfortable for over 160 years. Our products are utilized across various industries, including building products, aerospace, automotive, transportation, filtration, commercial interiors, waterproofing, and wind energy. This role involves troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency at our 24/7 operations plant.
Responsibilities
Connect with the maintenance manager and electrician team daily at 7 AM to receive work orders and PM orders via the SAP system.
Work primarily on conveyors, ovens, and slitters across two production lines: one focused on manufacturing installations and the other on packaging.
Inspect machinery and equipment while in operation, diagnose faulty operations, lubricate, and make necessary adjustments or repairs to keep equipment operational.
Maintain, inspect, lubricate, and repair plant systems, including water systems, compressed air systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, gas and propane systems, plant drainage and sewage disposal systems, and heating systems.
Periodically inspect and make necessary adjustments or repairs to the plant fire protection system, including alarms and auxiliary devices.
Utilize hand and power tools of all kinds and a variety of measuring and testing instruments.
Essential Skills
Troubleshooting skills, especially with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, valves, sprockets, and motors.
Ability to diagnose conveyor issues and determine causes for non-movement.
Experience with pneumatics, including valve banks and single cylinder units.
Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
Proficiency in reading schematics and using line diagrams.
Machining and hydraulic hose experience.
Understanding of gearboxes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-year degree in a related maintenance field or 3 years of experience in the field.
Ability to differentiate between belt types and lacings, including Alligator clips and lace belts.

Work Environment
This role is based in a non-climate controlled environment within a large facility that includes three shifts and three levels of the plant. There are also outdoor areas that require comfort with heights. Safety is a priority, and steel toe boots and safety goggles are mandatory. The first year involves working Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, followed by a rotating shift schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, switching every two weeks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $69014.00 - $69014.00/yr.
