Job Summary:

The US Customs VA Custodian is responsible for providing support services as needed in their enclave. Responsibilities include following the schedule set forth by the US Customs Custodial Supervisor. Demonstrates the ability to make decisions independently and ensure that their workload is handled each day

Essential Functions:

  • In collaboration with the US Customs VA Custodial Supervisor, implements, oversees, and completes all tasks. Sets a positive example via demeanor, interactions, and attendance.
  • Follows the schedule provided and adheres to any instructions from the Custodial Supervisor.
  • Maintains the highest quality and customer service standards.
  • Will assist with grounds keeping responsibilities when assigned by the Custodial Supervisor. This includes weed trimming, mowing, and other outside duties as assigned.
  • Immediately notify the US Customs Custodial Supervisor when there is a problem.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent customer relations with vendors, business contacts, other community partners, and with NWWs Board of Directors, directors, managers, staff, and workers.
  • After proper training, you will operate all primary equipment such as automatic floor scrubbers, power vacuums, floor strippers, etc.
  • Completes projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments with assistance from the US Customs Custodial Supervisor.
  • Participates in meetings, retreats, in-services, workshops, conferences, and committees as required.
  • Arrives at work on time, prepared and with a positive attitude.
  • Maintains accurate time records and related documentation and submits paperwork by established deadlines.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of NW Works.
  • Represents agency standards for dress, grooming and demeanor.
  • Accepts and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this positions essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop and bend.
  • Ability to stand an entire workday.
  • Ability to use full range of motion.
