Position: Dock Coordinator B shift (Days)

Supervisor: Distribution Supervisor

Job Summary

  • Provide daily support to distribution to drive production performance in the shipping dock to maintain and maximize productivity, quality and service objectives.

General Duties

  • Print the Work in Progress report to visualize work distribution

  • Access to PKMS and see how much work is left in each mega wave, load, container load, live load, Miscellaneous load, CPU load, stock tanks load

  • Get a list for the loaders following a priority with oldest loads to be completed first

  • Give the loads list to loaders

  • Go to each load in PKMS to see where the missing product is coming from

  • Print a pallet ID and walk to floor to find the product

  • Communicate with console operator to see if we have all the trailers for commercial loads and containers

  • When needed, contact the yard jockey or SMBK driver for trailers/containers needed in/out the doors

  • Communicate with team lead, supervisor and mezz leader about what loads are being released next

  • Communicate with truck pack regarding truck tanks and stock tanks that need to come to the dock to finish loads

  • Follow up with hospital lane to make sure all the lanes are closed in timely manner. This practice helps reduce the time of open loads and ensures fast deliveries

  • Make sure the trailer paperwork match what is physically in the door.

  • Sign off the loader paperwork when a load is completed, close it in PKMS correctly and ensure the loading seal match the number in the paperwork. (Console)

  • Follow up with team lead regarding shortages when necessary

  • Put live loads in the doors and make sure all SKUs are released and ensure the load is in priority

  • If there is a pallet that cannot be found and is large amount. Dock killer re-orders the pallet

  • If system pallet is missing, print the pallet ID, reorder the product and rebuild the pallet

  • Verify that the lost product is not in the trailer

  • Work with console in finding missing trailers. Check the main lot, AV lot and HH lot

  • Release tasks in order by mega waves unless told otherwise

  • Release and prioritize MISC loads by pick up date

  • Do research when product is missing from a load

  • Monitor LB, HB, non-systems, systems to ensure balanced progress across all areas by wave and load

  • If flow is unbalance, meet with team lead and supervisor to strategize a plan to correct it

  • Being able to track the history of a pallet and user when there are issues or questions with product

  • Identify the difference between the 6000 load and 2000 load when loads need to be overflow or cut

  • Provide support to UPS scanner when questions arise

  • Provide support to console operator when needed

  • Monitor the DFT to see if pallets need to be put away or fixed

Working Conditions

Maintains a high level of enthusiasm, sense of responsibility, attention to detail and customer service for the continuous value improvement processes with all internal and external customers of the business.

  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Previous Dock killer/dock lead or backup experience preferred

  • Logistics, warehouse, or other distribution experience preferred

  • Associate must be a team player that leads by example

  • Associate must have analytical skills and being able to prioritize what loads need to get done first

  • Associate must have good people skills to work with loaders and other associates

  • Associate must be open to new process improvements/changes while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Must not be in any attendance steps while applying or while holding a dock killer position. Any attendance steps incurred while holding this position will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary

  • Must not be in any disciplinary steps while applying for this position. Any disciplinary steps beyond a written warning, while holding the position will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary

  • Must have good customer service skills
