Essential FunctionsAssists with the daily management of the pharmacy, including budgeting, planning, directing and supervising pharmacy operations and personnel.Assists in departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Assists in staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, and evaluating, as well as delivery of disciplinary action and continuing education activities.Maintains pharmacy compliance with established hospital and regulatory agency regulations, including those of the Board of Pharmacy and Joint Commission.Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.Acts as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug related information and literature. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

*Job Requirements *Minimum EducationPharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy - requiredDoctor of Pharmacy degree - PreferredAt least 3 years hospital pharmacy experience or completion of Post-Graduate Year 1 residency preferredAt least 1 years hosptial pharmacy experience or completion of 1-year post-graduate residency - PreferredRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)Licenses: Kentucky state license to practice pharmacy - Obtain within 90 days of hire
