Wastequip Design Engineer in Winamac, Indiana
Description
Salary Range: $75k- $80k based on experience
Job Summary
Design, model, and test prototypes for products.
Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.
Establish design briefs.
Create concepts, performance, and production criteria.
Identify and select materials needed for production.
Produce final drawings and specifications.
Create parts lists.
List costs involved in production.
Make samples of working models for demonstration.
Plan marketing initiatives for product.
Negotiate appropriate production processes.
Travel to production facilities to evaluate processes.
Improve usability of an item.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of (5) years of progressive work experience in a manufacturing operation involving extensive assembly operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Tools. (Green Belt or Black Belt Certification a real plus)
Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Inventor
Nastran FEA analysis (or similar) experience
Proven ability to lead teams and bring results through others
Machining, Welding, Fabrication or knowledge of truck industry experience a plus
Must possess technical, problem solving, and analytic skills with ability to think strategically.
Must be willing to travel up to 25%
Must be teamwork oriented.
Must possess an attitude of safety in all aspects of the job
