What you’ll do:

  • Accountable for the performance of Supply Chain – internally and externally to meet the business plan

  • Leads all Supply activities for MSD, Wimborne through an integrated team of procurement professionals, customer IPT embedded teams, and an integrated team of materials professionals spanning Demand, Procurement and Planning

  • Manages a growing spend profile in excess of £100m whilst driving continuous improvement into the supply chain design, execution and supporting processes

  • Develop, own and execute Supply Chain Strategy.

  • Assume ownership and accountability of Supply and Logistics teams, processes and performance, from strategic planning to tactical delivery.

  • Provide leadership, development opportunities, and managerial oversight to the Supply and Logistics Leadership teams, and indirectly to Customer IPT teams.

  • Manage SIOP process to improve strategic planning and drive integrated executive alignment to improve customer satisfaction, market share, and profit.

  • Holds ultimate accountability for the performance of vendors, as measured by the Supply Chain Dashboard

  • Improve financial performance by reducing inventory to meet plan and develop an understanding of the drivers of material cost as a percentage of revenue with an associated reduction plan. Develop new means to reduce costs while maintaining business objectives.

  • Oversees the effective management of all supply chain spend, driving accountability to the right levels within the management structure

  • Establishes, implements and manages both short and long terms goals, strategic plans, policies and procedures to ensure the success of the function

  • Manages vendor relationships at the most senior levels to support the achievement of business requirements; anticipates those relationships that require special focus and tailors approach to effect a positive outcome in all cases

  • Provides an over-arching assessment of the health, performance and sustainability of the supply chain, effecting prompt and decisive action where adjustments in strategy are required to avert risk

  • Champions positive cross-functional interfaces and appropriately influences stakeholders from commercial, supplier quality, finance, engineering and operations

  • Works seamlessly with Supplier Quality Engineering to eliminate inbound quality defects and reduce the cost of in-process failures at suppliers

  • Works closely with the Operations Lead to ensure material arrives into the business on time and in the most efficient manner

  • Secures a global supply base that meets the organisation’s QCD targets

  • Provides an over-arching ownership of the commercial relationship with suppliers, ensuring contracts are fit for purpose, benefit and maintain risk at a manageable level

  • Ensures vendor base is compliant to Corporate Social Responsibility and ethics policies

  • Manages and evolves the Supply Chain management information (MI) suite and uses to make data driven decisions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field

  • CIPS Certified or Masters degree in relevant field preferred

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate progressive change.

  • appropriate working knowledge of ISO9001/ AS9100 Quality Management Regs and EHS regulations
