OrePac Building Products Senior Territory Manager in Wilsonville, Oregon

Job Title: Home Center Senior Territory Manager

Pay & FSLA Status: $70,000-$100,000 base salary D.O.E. + additional bonus opportunity ; Salary exempt

Regular Schedule & Shift: Monday – Friday; Day shift

Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours accrued year 1; 120 hours accrued annually after year 1

Paid Sick Time: Per state requirements

Management Position: No

Branch Location: Position may be operated out of Portland, OR, Tacoma, WA, or Seattle, WA

Territory: Northwest (Oregon & Washington)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Home Center Senior Territory Manager is responsible for leading and driving sales growth initiatives among the Channel Representatives supporting The Home Depot. This position will work directly with their immediate supervisor and have significant influence in all areas regarding staffing, employee engagement and development, and accountability.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Account Management:

  • Execute sales plan to grow and build new business.

  • Understand current market trends, competition, market construction opportunities, product promotions, new products, and install and warranty best practices on OrePac product offerings.

  • Must maintain strong working relationships with OrePac inside sales team and support personnel, as well as The Home Depot’s (THD) associates. Work with The Home Depot’s regional leadership positions in the assigned region.

  • Provide literature, marketing supplies, and samples to customer associates.

  • Responsible for ensuring merchandising quality in stores .

  • May require assessing potential damages in the field and addressing issues accordingly.

  • Directly engage in all sales channels through THD. Train internal sales staff on how to service customer associates in each sales channel through THD.

    Staffing Supervision:

  • Work with management and provide feedback in areas of staffing, including::

  • Interviewing and hiring qualified candidates.

  • Training, developing, and appraising employees (including new hire orientation and performance reviews).

  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.

  • Rewarding and disciplining employees (including termination).

  • Taking corrective action as necessary in a timely manner.

  • Addressing complaints and resolving personnel issues.

    Customer Support:

  • Service accounts in-person, over the phone, and through emails to generate new business opportunities.

  • Maintain relationships built with customers to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Assess wholesale inventory needs and offer solutions to increase customer’s business with OrePac.

  • Respond quickly to customer concerns and needs. Work directly with in-store merchandising teams to ensure accuracy of displayed product.

    Reporting and Tracking:

  • Forecast and generate comprehensive sales reports to designated OrePac sales managers.

  • Perform stock program audits with THD and work with Regional Merchandising Managers (RMM’s) to suggest product opportunities for specific markets.

    Sales Team Support and Planning:

  • Create sales goals, plans, and objectives.

  • Ensure that the internal sales team has the tools, training, and strategy necessary to execute sales plans. Identify gaps in potential sales growth and develop plans accordingly. Direct the team daily on customer engagement and sales prioritization.

  • Provide training on OrePac and Home Depot’s systems and operations.

    Events and Education:

  • Organize and attend customer events. Perform door and millwork takeoffs from blueprints and job walks.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to travel throughout the local market area 3 to 5 days per week.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring fellow employees or teammates to achieve developmental growth. Ability to lead channel representatives according to assigned territory.

  • Ability to problem solve minor to moderate challenges within the department utilizing the tools and resources available and escalate the matter to a manager when appropriate. Ability to problem solve and offer solutions to OrePac standards.

  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats. Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people consisting of employees, customers, and/or members of leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability engaging and leading individual and team discussions and meetings. Ability to articulate direction and expectations to teammates in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to multitask, re-prioritize as necessary, and meet multiple deadlines throughout the day with minimal supervision and effectively communicate changes to the team. Must be flexible and ready to adapt within a fast-paced working environment while maintaining quality results and achieving department goals.

  • Experience using lead tracking services and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software such as SalesForce.com (preferred but not required).

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales-focused, supply chain, or related position working with product line oversight and inventory planning and control in a distribution environment.

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

  • Occasionally lift/move/manipulate up to 60 pounds and team lift/move/manipulate materials up to 100 pounds.

  • Occasionally lift/move/manipulate materials measuring up to 16 feet long.

  • Occasionally required to bend, reach, and climb tall ladders and stairs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment and onsite in Home Depot stores.

  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

  • The work environment is generally quiet but can be loud when in Home Depot stores.

  • This position routinely works in the field servicing The Home Depot stores in an assigned geographical area.

    DRESS CODE:

  • All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful.
