Ferno-Washington, Inc Tech Repair Specialist 1 in Wilmington, Ohio

Description:

This position will be responsible for supporting Ferno products that are determined and/or requested to be repaired at Ferno. This will include all current and serviceable products. This individual will work with and interface with the technical support specialist 2 individual, quality department, and others within the company. They will repair customer equipment, provide updates to the PCS system, make part, and repair recommendations and follow all Ferno process and procedure instructions. They must be capable of understanding the organization's products; effectively communicating any found issues. This is a hands-on position that focuses on daily operations of repairing customer equipment.

This person will also be responsible for learning how to troubleshoot and support technical support requests and questions. Commitment to understanding the products and their function is critical. This person must have excellent attendance and be available to help diagnose and document discussions with customers in a professional and appropriate manner.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily Hands-On repair of customer equipment.
  • Understand and Learn the Ferno product functionality.
  • Initiate part requests to complete equipment repair.
  • May need to communicate with Ferno employees or customers on:
  • Product issues
  • Technical issues
  • Initiate and follow-up on product issues and document in the Product Communication System.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.

  • Excellent attendance

  • Effective trouble shooting techniques, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understand and Efficient with all types of Hand Tools; drills, wrenches; metric and standard, heat gun, multi-meter, computer, ratchet and Bit sets, T-Handles, Torx set, roto-clip tool, Snap ring pliers, protractor, tape measure, plier sets, side cutters/wire-cutter, mallet, hammer, box knife, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize numerous tasks and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Work and Data Base Compute Systems.
  • Ability to understand drawings and part diagrams.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Reading and comprehension skills required.
  • Ability to speak effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
  • Ability to use MS Outlook to effectively communicate via internet/network.
  • Minimum requirement: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply good sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to know when to request directions as needed. Self-starter to seek answers and solve problems.
  • This will be an hourly position with the hours being 6:00AM-2:30PM EST.
