Role Summary: As a Corporate Security Specialist, you will be responsible for the development and oversight of Corning Credit Union's security plans, protocols, and projects. This role will also assist with the physical security for all locations and markets. In addition, the Corporate Security Specialist will work closely with other departments to recommend procedures and mitigate potential loss to the organization while balancing security with convenience.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assists in developing and implementing new corporate security plans/protocols and evaluates current plans/protocols for weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for preparedness and safety training.
  • Acts as a contact and responder for security response calls.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations for physical security at all locations.
  • Assists with the oversight, maintenance, and replacement of all building and ATM security related systems.
  • Assists in developing security layouts for new or renovated office locations and expansion of established security systems, as needed.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining security and fire vendor relationships as well as cultivating relationships with local law enforcement agencies and private security resources.
  • Assists in planning and executing routine evacuation drills for shelter in place, fire drills, etc.
  • Investigates and documents security related accidents and incidents.
  • Also assumes responsibility for other projects or duties as required or assigned.

Required Competencies

  • Maintains current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and employ effective judgement during sensitive, stressful, or chaotic situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional flexibility with the innate ability to multi-task and manage multiple, changing, or conflicting priorities.
  • Maintains a general understanding of Credit Union laws and regulations.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to create and deliver effective policies, procedures, and training materials.
