Overview:

As a Windows System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our Windows-based environments, managing client-server applications, and contributing to our DevOps initiatives. This role requires a technical generalist with a strong operations background who can effectively communicate across teams and manage various IT tasks. You will be instrumental in the deployment and management of our infrastructure using tools like Git, Terraform, and Azure pipelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Windows System Administration:

• Manage, monitor, and support Windows server environments.

• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues.

Client-Server Application Support:

• Provide support for client-server applications, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Work closely with development teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain applications.

DevOps and Infrastructure Automation:

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management with Terraform.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline deployments and improve system reliability.

Operations and Communication:

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth IT operations.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on system status and project progress.

• Contribute to the development and documentation of IT policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Required:

Combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

Education and Experience Preferred:

Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline creation and management

Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $121,698.75 - $202,831.26 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
