As an Executive Director in the Corporate Functions CCOR team, you will support the firm and the Chief Compliance Officer by, among other things, providing day-to-day guidance to all stakeholders on compliance matters, continuing to build out and enhance the Operational Risk and Control environment within Corporate and Global Finance, and monitoring, overseeing and independently challenging the firm's execution of its risk management and regulatory responsibilities. You will work closely with stakeholders within First Line of Defense across the firm and firmwide Finance Controller, Tax, Valuation Control and Investor Relations functions, Legal, Business Control Managers, Business Management; Compliance and Operational risk global and regional team within Second Line of Defense and Audit. To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience working within financial control, legal entity control or business aligned product control and CFO roles. Job responsibilities

  • Serving as primary point of contact for delivery of the Firm's Compliance & Operational Risk Program for Corporate and Global Finance Function

  • Lead and provide Compliance and Operational Risk Management oversight and independent challenge of changes to Business processes, risks and controls that result from industry, regulatory and/or business decisions and strategic initiatives

  • Review and perform independent assessment(s) of compliance and operational risks leveraging CCOR framework (e.g. review and challenge of process, controls and risk assessments and performing monitoring and testing activities)

  • Proactively analyze compliance and operational risks to identify and make recommendations for process or control changes and system enhancements

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures designed to address relevant banking, fiduciary and securities regulations, corporate policies and market practices related to the Firm's investment activity

  • Providing real-time guidance on applicability of regulatory or corporate policies to the function arising from current and prospective transactions

  • Coordinating with colleagues in Legal and Compliance on industry developments and rulemaking, and keeping senior management informed of relevant developments

  • Partner with 1st LOD and CCOR to strengthen the operational risk environment of the firm using analytics and independent challenge(s).

  • Conducting compliance training on the Firm's policies and procedures.

  • Assisting in regulatory reviews, audits, exams and inquiries related to group's activities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree with minimum 12 years of experience in financial institution; specific experience in Finance Controller, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, CFO support and Operational Risk Management

  • Understanding of the financial and regulatory reporting requirements, US GAAP, IFRS, Financial and Regulatory reporting requirements for large banks

  • Excellent research, analysis, written and interpersonal and communication skills; must have ability to adjust communication style for a variety of situations and be able to defend your stance, as needed

  • The candidate must be able to make decisions based on sound judgment, and utilize a well-maintained network of product and regulatory specialists as needed

  • Experienced in managing teams in a fast paced environment

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Understanding of the uses and application of data analytics and generative AI and LLM

  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of responsibilities; diligent, and self-motivated with ability to make independent decisions

  • Intellectually curious, and comfortable challenging current practices

  • Ability to foster relationships at all levels within the coverage area and associated control functions

  • CPA or equivalent preferred

  • Experience of interactions with regulators is a plus
