Job Summary
We are seeking a procurement professional experienced in developing and executing global category strategies and preparing, negotiating, managing and coordinating agreements for $101MM/year MRO parts: Pipe, Valves, Fittings, PPE, Industrial Supplies, Power Transmission and Bearings, Gaskets, Pressure Relief Devices, etc.
Mentors and leads team of regional Subcategory Managers, and/or Category Buyers, and/or Efficiency Buyers in the MRO Category Tower. Leads the collaboration with business and functional leadership (ie. sustainability) in the establishment and execution of sourcing & value creation strategies for the corporation.
Leads supplier relationship management initiatives for key MRO suppliers. Identifies and drives continuous improvement & TCO opportunities. Oversees contract implementation and supplier performance/interaction; leads resolution of operational issues
Please note team members work onsite 3 days a week and 2 days remote. Candidates must live within a commutable distance as there is no relocation for this role.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize category management levers and practices to develop and implement global category strategies
Drive the use of traditional and advanced category strategies and sourcing tools to optimize the procurement process and add value
Negotiate and deliver cost savings to meet business requirements and procurement organization objectives
Leads the collaboration with business and functional leadership in the establishment and execution of value creation strategies
Establishes key performance indications and implement with strategic suppliers to drive improvements
Gathers voice of the customer data periodically in incorporates into category strategy and contact negotiations
Ensures timely resolution of issues related to MRO supply issues and implements root cause analysis and corrections to avoid future incidence
Education & Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
5+ years demonstrated procurement experience required
Knowledge of relevant MRO categories is required – ( Pipe, Valves, Fittings, PPE, Industrial Supplies, Power Transmission and Bearings, Gaskets, Pressure Relief Devices, etc)
Experience in negotiating agreements/contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms
Advanced Excel Skills and moderate experience in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint
Strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics
Understands market dynamics, utility rates, regulation/deregulation, etc. that impact category
Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills. Able to conduct complex analysis such us TCO, EVC, NPV
Ability to manage multiple project tasks and quickly initiate changes in plan when appropriate
Ability to translate implications from analysis into preliminary recommendations
Strong influence & communication skills
Demonstrated ability to drive/deliver results
Strong sourcing expertise and experienced in buy category
High ethical standards
Preferred:
Knowledge of project management and Six Sigma methodologies
CPSM certification
