MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Location: Saint Francis LIFE Riverfront, Wilmington, DE

Status: Full time

Shift: Mon to Fri, 8 am to 430 pm, no nights/weekends//holiday shifts

Position Purpose:

Provide and assist participants with daily living activities, restorative, and supportive care. Monitor and report participants' health status and ensure a safe environment.

Position Details:

This position will work primarily in the clinic within the facility. However, some home care phlebotomy assignments will be required as needed.

What you will do:

  • Assist in participant care during exams and treatments.

  • Perform assessments, take vital signs, and manage medication administration.

  • Conduct lab specimen collection, EKGs, and other tasks as directed.

  • Provide ADL assistance and maintain cleanliness in the clinic.

  • Manage supplies and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Perform front desk duties, including participant check-ins and phone handling.

  • Maintain current written records, indicating ongoing documentation of services provided, reassessments of changing needs, and participant's expressed wishes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program AND current Medical Assistant certification required.

  • Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle required.

  • Experience with elderly or frail populations preferred.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or must receive appropriate training upon hiring.

  • Must manage conflict well, be customer focused and be able to adapt to ongoing change regarding work priorities.

  • Demonstrates superior written/verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region.
