Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware! This role is integral to the financial operations of our company within the construction industry. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be tasked with managing and processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities: • Review and verify vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and proper authorization. • Enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring timely processing and proper coding. • Match invoices to receiving/backup documents for validation. • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments to vendors as required. • Issue and distribute checks for approved invoices, maintaining accurate records. • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles. • Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable files and records. • Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues. • Verify and reconcile vendor statements to maintain accurate accounts.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable • Proficient in account coding and coding invoices • Familiarity with accounting software systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning • Knowledge of accounting functions and accrual accounting • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Automated Clearing House (ACH) • Ability to enter vendor invoices and process invoices efficiently • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
