Overview:
As a Senior Specialist of Sales & Retail Engagement, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving Wayfair’s success by creating exceptional customer experiences and leading your team to achieve ambitious sales targets. Reporting to the Department Manager, you’ll leverage your deep knowledge of home furnishings and design to provide expert guidance, mentor Sales Associates and Specialists, and develop strategies to elevate store performance. By blending your leadership abilities with your passion for sales, you’ll inspire the team to deliver results while ensuring a seamless shopping experience for every customer. What Does a Senior Specialist of Sales & Retail Engagement Do?
Drive Sales Leadership & Performance: Consistently exceed individual sales goals, KPIs, and productivity standards. Foster a sales-driven culture emphasizing customer engagement, product knowledge, and achieving team sales targets.
Lead by Example in Sales Excellence: Act as a role model for the team by demonstrating effective selling techniques, building customer rapport, and closing sales with confidence.
Mentor & Develop Sales Specialists: Provide training and mentorship to Sales Specialists, ensuring they are well-versed in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service excellence. Help new hires quickly acclimate to the Wayfair sales environment.
Demonstrate Reliability & Professionalism: Maintain strong attendance and communication to support business needs. Proactively address scheduling or operational challenges to ensure consistent store coverage.
Foster a Collaborative Team Environment: Promote a positive, team-oriented atmosphere by sharing best practices, offering constructive feedback, and supporting colleagues in achieving collective success.
Enhance Customer Experience & Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with customers by leveraging your product expertise to offer personalized recommendations and design solutions, ensuring every customer feels valued and supported.
Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Proactively resolve customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction and delivering a seamless and memorable shopping experience.
Champion Product Knowledge: Maintain expert-level knowledge of Wayfair’s product catalog and stay informed about design trends, new product launches, and industry innovations to offer customers the best solutions.
Ensure Operational Excellence: Contribute to the smooth running of store operations by assisting with inventory replenishment, floor set execution, product processing, and maintaining store presentation standards.
Utilize Sales Analytics & Tools: Master Wayfair's sales essentials, CRM software, and analytics tools to monitor performance, track progress toward goals, and adapt strategies to improve sales outcomes.
What are the Job Requirements?
Experience: 2-4 years of experience leading a sales team in a fast-paced retail environment. Proven success in retail sales, with a preference for experience in a design-related or specialty sales setting.
Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and coach a team to achieve sales goals. Strong skills in mentoring team members, delegating tasks, and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Sales & Customer Service Expertise: A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and utilizing consultative selling techniques to address customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
Flexibility & Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of home furnishings and design principles, with the ability to learn and adapt to an extensive product catalog. Confident in articulating product features, benefits, and value propositions to customers.
Business Acumen & Analytics: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience analyzing sales data to identify trends, make data-driven decisions, and improve performance. A solid understanding of retail operations and how they impact sales and customer experience.
Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using mobile applications, CRM systems, design tools, and Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications. Ability to adapt to new technologies and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
