Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the General Accounting (primary to execute month-end financial close), Operations Controllership Center of Excellence (“bridge” from corporate function to the field) and Cost Accounting (OH allocations and fixed asset accounting) teams.

  • Primary, driving force for continuous improvement and efficiency gains within the month-end financial close process.

  • Reviewer/approver of high-risk journal entries / key estimates and accruals.

  • Lead contact with operations and executive leadership re: accounting-related matters

  • Relationship owner with external auditors

  • Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as project/system implementation support, business development due diligence and other accounting-related matters.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting

  • CPA (Preferred, but not required).

  • At least 7 years of accounting (or similar) experience with increasing leadership responsibilities

  • At least 2 years of experience leading a large team/function

  • Experience at a large, public company with a tight month-end financial close process (less than 7 working days) strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

  • A leader who promotes teamwork and collaboration.

  • Must be able to delegate.

  • Proven ability to develop a vision of “what could be”, not just focused on “what is/has been”

  • Demonstrated ability to execute/drive a project plan to completion,; including influencing others and effectively managing their team and others through change.

  • In-depth experience using modern ERP’s such as SAP or Oracle is strongly preferred, as well as consolidation tools (e.g. FCCS) and financial planning tools (e.g. ePBCS)

  • Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, external auditors, field operations, etc.

License & Certifications Pre-Screen
