Primary Responsibilities

  • Be an appropriate role model for children in care.

  • Supervision of students from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Organization, planning and facilitation of job site work.

  • Time Sheets – The supervisor is responsible for rating the resident, marking both positive and negative behaviors as well as marking any absences or instances of tardiness, and must sign the time sheet to return to the JRT Coordinator.

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Current NYS Driver’s License

  • Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening

  • Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles

  • Ability to physically restrain if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Social Work

  • Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
