DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will provide valuable support to the Social Services Department staff, including the Care Management Unit, the Intake/Assessment Unit, and the Waiver Unit. You will field all incoming telephone calls from consumers who have questions regarding aging programs such as the PA 600 form for the County Assistance Office (CAO), PACE, tax and rent rebates, LIHEAP, and various other programs. Duties also involve assisting consumers with completing applications for the aforementioned resources, either within the office or at the consumer's residence for those who are unable to report to the office.
Another primary function is contacting consumers via telephone to determine the status of services from contracted providers and overall satisfaction with those services. Responses will be recorded in the AAA data base and the Care Manager will be consulted for any issues or concerns. Excellent organizational skills are utilized to accurately track and maintain records of all assigned activities and consumers who were seen each month. You will be responsible for maintaining on-going proficiency in the use of the statewide Department of Aging database known as Well-Sky.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: Part-time employment, 20 hours/week. Work hours are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Thursday. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming County.
