Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Wiesbaden, Germany NETCOM Europe. Responsibilities Incumbent serves as a Collaboration Support Specialist in the Network Management Branch, Regional Cyber Center – Europe. Selectee proactively coordinates and carries out the activities and processes required to implement, operate, and maintain premier collaboration services as a Network Operations Specialist. Builds, tests, and delivers capabilities to provide services specified by the design process; conducts systems acceptance testing to mark formal transfer of designs into operations from engineering. Optimizes the capabilities of IT infrastructure, services, and supporting organizations to deliver cost effective and sustained levels of availability. Minimizes the impact of incidents and problems on business services caused by errors within the IT infrastructure and prevents the reoccurrence of incidents related to these errors. Restores normal service operations as quickly as possible to minimize impact on business services. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by operating and managing Enterprise Collaboration IP and TDM based infrastructure (such as Enterprise Voice Video over IP (VVoIP), Base Emergency Communication Systems, Next Gen 911/Enhanced 911, DSN/DRSN, SIP trunks and circuits); integrating, operating, or optimizing multi-vendor LAN or WAN technologies; interpreting and modifying network device configurations to meet security requirements; developing network architecture drawings/plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guides, or process maps related to network operations or problem/incident resolution; and identifying, diagnosing, or resolving complex network performance issues and outages. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
