Responsible for the resident health and wellness program that integrates both proactive and reactive exercise and therapeutic services to help residents enhance their health and fitness and retain or improve their independence. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the seven dimensions of wellness (Social, Emotional, Spiritual, Environmental, Occupational, Intellectual and Physical) are incorporated into the lives of the residents in all areas of the community. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the Resident Wellness Program, wellness coaching, education seminars, and coordinating wellness activities within the organization.
• Administers standardized fitness assessment, interprets and explains fitness test results
• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Markets and promotes Resident Wellness Program to current and potential residents.
• Develops cooperative and strategic relationships with organizational departments
• Prepare monthly calendar events for Wellness Services.
• Supervises and ensures the proper use of equipment and overall safety for residents.
• Records and tracks outcome measurements for evaluation of wellness program and resident progress.
• Assist with individual restorative/maintenance programs developed by Therapies.
• Instructs patients individually or in groups in prescribed instrumental or vocal music and music projective techniques.
• Assess functioning levels, strengths, and areas of need in terms of perceptual, sensory, affective, communicative, musical, or other abilities.
• Plan or structure sessions to achieve appropriate transitions, pacing, sequencing, energy level, or intensity in accordance with treatment plans.
• Integrate behavioral, developmental, improvisational, medical, or neurological approaches into program.
