R1 RCM HIM Associate I in Wichita, Kansas

As our HIM Associate I, you will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and payors while upholding the utmost confidentiality for all patients. Your daily tasks will involve preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information to ensure the completion of health information and data. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate and confidential health records. Every day you will work in the health information management department while working cross functionally with the patient access department, CDI team, provider offices, and health informatics/IT team. To thrive in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about handling sensitive information. You’ll use your prior experience with navigating multiple systems to collect patient information and enter it into multiple computer systems. You’ll use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to answer questions from patients as well as physicians and their staff. The HIM Associate I needs to have demonstrated the ability to work well independently and in teams, have the ability to prioritize, multitask, work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while demonstrating good decision-making abilities.

Please be advised, this is a full time, 40-hour week role. The associate will work Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm CST onsite in the HIM department located at 3720 East Bayley Street Wichita, Kansas 67218. The associate must be up to date on all vaccines (including but not limited to annual flu shot). We can help you with your vaccines at no cost to you. The associate will need to pass a background check and drug screen.  Although previous healthcare experience would be helpful, it is not required.

Here is what you will experience working as an HIM Associate I :

  • Charting check-in from courier service

  • Prepping, scanning, indexing, and quality control validation of all medical records

  • Performing data entry functions by hand-keying electronic information into various data systems to maintain updated information for future use and analysis

  • Updating spreadsheets and data systems to maintain accurate information

  • Exemplifying caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.00 - $17.37 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
