PAY RANGE: Conv Gen Program Analyst I: \$51,000 - \$63,700

Conv Gen Program Analyst II: \$\$62,300 - \$77,900

Sr Conv Gen Program Analyst: \$70,400 - \$93,900

Lead Conv Gen Program Analyst: \$83,100 - \$110,800

Scheduled Work Hours:Monday - Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with additional work hours as required. This role will be a combination of remote and in office work, with the ability to attend meetings on-site as appropriate. Candidates who are performing work remotely must live in Kansas or Missouri.

Summary of Primary Duties:

Evergy is committed to leading the Responsible Portfolio Transition. Under general direction of the Director Conventional Generation Projects, the successful candidate in this key role will be responsible for regulatory compliance and due diligence work for new conventional generation projects. Evergys 2024 Triennial Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) calls for 3,600 MWs of new wind and solar and 2,445 MWs of new conventional generating assets over the next ten years. The Program Analyst will be a key member of the team and will be responsible for transforming data gathered into information that can be used to facilitate decision making; and assisting with regulatory filings (CCNs, predetermination, rate cases, etc.) as well as completing due diligence work for the projects.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Filings
    • Prepare CCNs (certificates of convenience & necessity), predetermination letters and additional need for rate cases and other regulatory filings
    • Draft testimony and ensure timely response to all regulatory data requests
    • Prepare exhibits, budgets and other supporting documentation
    • Create written material for testimony requirements that summarize study results, project reports, and supporting testimony while ensuring appropriate project/technical documentation is captured
    • Work cross functionally with Evergys Regulatory, Compliance and Environmental groups to ensure all program filings and project due diligence is in compliance with various agencies and permitting authorities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure project documentation and due diligence will meet regulatory filing needs
    • Work with each project manager and team member to create due diligence documentation for current and future filings
    • Ensure that key project decisions are captured in a manner that is sufficient for regulatory filings, audits and due diligence requests
    • Capture and report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary
    • Work with and support Development leadership, project managers, engineers, project control analysts, as well as internal and external stakeholders to appropriately navigate all regulatory processes and filings

Education and Experience Requirements: :::

::: {title=""} - A Bachelors degree in business, engineering, finance, accounting or relevant experience is highly p referred - Must have at least two years of related experience that demonstrates the ability to navigate complex rules/government/industry regulations, including experience working with and understanding projects of a technical nature - Regulatory experience is highly preferred - Work experience must demonstrate the ability to work independently, assimilate and process complex information, and communicate effectively with management, teammates, and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Ability to transform and interpret data to formulate communications that are appropriate for a regulatory filing process.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

A good understanding of work and business processes related to budgeting of large project work.

Must be able to demonstrate a general understanding of regulatory filings and requirements.

Ability to work independently and resolve work process issues utilizing analytical thinking, creative problem solving and sound reasoning.
