Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We have a 2nd shift opening for a CNC Machinist (Mon-Fri 3:30pm-12am). As a CNC Machinist, you will be operating computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions required to produce customer orders. Your reliability and accuracy are essential to our success. You will be responsible for setting up and operating automated CNC Vertical and horizontal machines, performing daily checks on assigned machines, interpreting product blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other work instructions, and also assisting in training new operators.
Hard Skills
Experience in manufacturing role utilizing CNC machines
Reading & accurately interpreting shop blueprints, sketches, and other technical information/instructions
Basic math skills
Experience using mics, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
Experience using indicators to verify flatness and straightness of fixturing and tooling
Experience using cranes, forklifts, and similar heavy & oversized material handling equipment
Soft Skills
Good communication skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Consistent employment without unexplained or significant gaps or frequent job changes
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 5 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Wichita, Kansas.
Work Environment
You will be working in a CNC Machine Shop, exposed to conditions that may vary significantly. These conditions include excessive noise (hearing protection required), dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors regularly, and extreme temperatures occasionally. You will be dealing with hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment continually. The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required.
