JOB SUMMARY:

The Compliance Specialist will function as a member of the Textron Aviation Inc. legal department located in Wichita, Kansas.The position primarily supports Textron Aviation’s ethics and compliance team across a broad range of issues pertaining to its global aerospace business.The successful candidate must be approachable, vocal, solution focused, and proactive.This position requires a candidate with a broad range of compliance skillsto beapplied both domestically and internationally.Candidates with experience in aviation or cross-border international business is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and have experience with:

+

  • Anti-money laundering compliance, including Know Your Customer processes and solutions for a diverse business.

  • Worldwide anti-corruption regulation and enforcement, with a focus on the FCPA in an international sales environment.

  • U.S. trade regulations including but not limited to, exports and trade sanctions.

  • Key aspects of corporate compliance programs, including compliance processes and procedures, record-keeping activities, and enforcement risks and procedures.

  • Provide business ethics and compliance operational guidance.

  • Develop productive working relationships and collaborate cross-functionally to support business objectives and the company’s core values in a compliant and ethical manner.

  • Facilitate approval requests for business courtesies for both commercial and government customers, including gifts, hospitality, and travel.

  • Train employees to ensure completion of annual training and where appropriate, assist with drafting and provisioning of additional training.

  • Draft compliance communications on timely and relevant topics and create content for intranet site.

  • Monitor changes in assigned areas of regulatory environment, and track industry trends and emerging compliance issues.

  • Assist with internal risk assessments and audits.

  • Prepare concise issue briefs and factual summaries.

  • Create process maps and business procedures to drive Compliance into business culture.

  • Develop, administer, and track the annual compliance plan.

  • Review and disposition denied party screening matches that are referred to Legal.

  • Assist counsel with internal investigations, including gathering information and preparing written reports.

  • Coordinate with the Textron Corporate Ethics & Compliance team.

  • Other compliance related activities as assigned.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Associate General Counsel-Compliance and requires interface on a regular basis with Human Resources, Finance, Trade Compliance, Customer Support and Textron Corporate Legal & Compliance. This is not a remote position and offices with the legal department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or a related degree.

  • MBA or JD degree preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 2 years required in organizational compliance policies, U.S. and international laws / regulations, or relative experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent business writing and communication skills

  • Must be comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and adept at influencing teams and leaders without direct authority.

  • Ability to communicate compliance concepts clearly and concisely to different stakeholders.

  • High integrity and a commitment to ethical practices in the business

  • Sound research skills and fastidious attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently as part of a team.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize nuance and exercise discretion.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to be collaborative across the business.
